Malayalam director Diphan is no more. The filmmaker succumbed to liver cirrhosis and kidney failure and passed away today. The 45 year old director, suffered from liver cirrhosis and was admitted at a private hospital in Kochi. Due to his severe condition, he was being cured at the Kochi Renai Medicity for the last few weeks. Director A K Sajan, a close friend of Diphan says, “He was ailing from liver cirrhosis and kidney failure. The body will be taken to Trivandrum today and will be cremated on the next day.”
Diphan, also known as Deepan was a well known director in the Malayalam industry and was known for his like Puthiya Mukham, Hero and SIM. He has worked with quite a few big names in the Kerala film industry. Diphan was working for a project going by the name Sathya, for which he roped in Jayaram in the lead role. The film was in its post productions stage when this tragedy occurred. It is quite sad to learn of his death. So far all we know about his death is that due to a weak liver and kidney failure, he was in the hospital. But since his body fell weak, he was unable to cope with the failing organs and passed away.
The filmmaker passed away today and his body will be transported to Trivandrum from Kochi. The last rites shall be conducted in Trivandrum itself tomorrow. It does make us wonder what will happen to the film that was in its post production stage and whether Jayaram will take forward the project and release it on a grand scale. Celebs have shared their condolences for the director’s untimely death. We hope he rests in peace.
