HYDERABAD: Amidst a few showers, Hyderabadis on Saturday basked in some sunshine as the sun played hide and seek after four days of damp and cloudy weather conditions . The rain might taper off during the next 24 hours as per the latest Met predictions. However, weathermen still issued a 48-hour warning of heavy rainfall in parts of coastal AP and Telangana.
“Rainfall is gradually decreasing,” said M Narasimha Rao, assistant meteorologist, Met department. With a brief spell of showers, Met office at Begumpet recorded a 1.2 mm rainfall till 5.30 pm on Saturday while the highest rainfall of 7.25 mm was recorded in Malkajgiri.
Meanwhile, heavy to very heavy rain has been forecast at a few places in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy and Hyderabad during the next 48 hours. But officials maintained that the rains are most likely to discontinue in about a day.
