Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce giant is one of largest online-shopping store and it has immense craze globally. The Jack Ma-led company registered record numbers in the recent festive sale called ‘Global Shopping Festival’ – just like the Big Billion Sale (Flipkart) and Great Indian Sale (Amazon) in India.
In just 2 hours into the festive sale, Alibaba has registered sales worth $11.9 billion (Rs 77,000 Crores). This is the 9th edition of ‘Global Shopping Festival’ which kicked off on Friday. This 24 hour sale is the biggest online sale in the world. This year, Alibaba reportedly put 1.5 Crore items on sale & 1.4 lakh brands that include international brands like Samsung, Apple, Nike, Gap and many more.
The company has officially released a note in this regard. In the first hour of sale, the e-commerce giant reported record 3.25 lakh orders per second. And Alibaba has received moolah at a speed of Rs 2.56 lakh per second, on ‘Ali Pay’, company’s online payments platform.
In 2016, Alibaba reported sales worth $18 billion, where this year-$12 billion sales are made in just two hours of sale.
