After the bifurcation of the state into two, now the Seemandhra leaders are in search of a perfect capital to their region. They want to make most out of the new capital, so as to compensate the loss of Hyderabad.
According to the source, there published a news in media that “Donakonda” is at the top of the race for being a capital of Seemandhra Region. It is a town and a Mandal in Prakasham district that has been well connected with other cities by road, rail and also airways.
This proposed capital, Donakonda has about 54,000 Acres of Government Lands with a population of over 5 lakhs. The distance between the proposed capital and Hyderabad is about 290 kms, a 5-6 hour journey. Donakonda has an Airport, a disused airstrip, which is located not far from the town.
