Outlook Magazine and its reporters got huge relief from High Court in IAS officer Smitha Sabharwal’s case. Lawyers of Outlook argued that Telangana cops interrogated them treating them in an insulting manner as if they were terrorists.
High Court after hearing to their arguments stayed all further actions by the Government till 9th of September. Earlier Outlook Magazine came with a cartoon in which it portrayed that the when a female IAS officer entered CMO office, all ministers along with Telangana CM KCR used to enjoy her beauty.
Outlook ran a article titled ‘No Boring Babu’without mentioning any one’s name as a gossip. However the article had many clues whom they were referring to. The cartoon showed the IAS officer walking down the ramp while a caricature of Telengana CM took a picture of her and other politicians leered in the background.
Smitha Sabharwal additional secretary of CM KCR,approached High Court alleging that Outlook published the cartoon insulting her in a derogatory manner. Even Telangana government gave 15 lakhs to Smitha Sabharwal to fight the case.
