NEW DELHI: It is a historical development going to happen in Pakistan. A Hindu woman is going to become a Parliament member for the first time in the history of Pakistan. No Hindu woman has elected for Parliment till now. The opposition Pakistan People’s Party(PPP) has announced Krishna Kumari as the candidate for the Upper House elections recently. PPP spokesperson Nasir Shah has announced her candidature through an announcement.
The Upper House elections are going to be held on March 3. These elections are similar to our Rajya Sabha elections. PPP has asked their legislative members and leaders to vote for Krishna Kumari. Usually, political parties choose celebrities and rich persons and her candidature is a surprise. Krishna Kumari expressed her happiness for choosing her as the candidate for the elections. She said that she hails from a poor family and she never thought of entering Parliament and it is a great opportunity for her.
