Hussainsagar lake to undergo major transformation

The Hussainsagar lake is all set to undergo a major transformation as the state government is planning to convert the area into a recreational spot for families, walkers and joggers by this December.

The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department’s principal secretary Arvind Kumar on Tuesday visited the lake to review the situation.

Speaking in this regard, he said that the idea is to make the lake a public place with lots of greenery which would work for families, morning walkers and joggers.

Mr Kumar also informed that a boardwalk will be built near the Buddha Purnima Project Authority building near the lake along with more accessibility to the Buddha statue.

Mentioning that the lighting works will also be taken up on the Bund between the road and the water on an experimental basis, he even added that as a part of the Hussainsagar beautification drive, a parking area near Lower Tank Bund and a foot overbridge connecting the parking area to Tank Bund will also be constructed.
