Recently, The Supreme Court reserved its verdict on the petitions filed against denial of entry for menstruating women into Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala, Kerala. A RSS Leader and RBI Board Member links this issue with that of the Kerala Floods.
S Gurumurthy who is serving as part-time non-official director of RBI since August 7th responded on Kerala Floods in this manner: ‘Supreme court judges may like to see if there is any connection between the case and what is happening in Sabarimala. Even if there is one in a million chance of a link people would not like the case decided against Ayyappan’.
The RBI Official faced backlash for what he did when helping stranded people or donating generously is the need of the hour. A Netizen questioned S Gurumurthy whether if he isn’t ashamed to talk in such manner when people are dying and becoming homeless. Another Social Media user advised the RBI Official not to speak if he cannot help
