This isn’t a politically motivated project but devotees participated in it voluntarily. A Woman had attempted suicide in Thiruvananthapuram in protest against the verdict of the Apex Court.

Most importantly, Majority of the Protesters are Women and Youth. Women claimed they could wait until completion of 50 years for the darshan of Ayyappa. They demanded the Kerala Government to challenge the verdict of the Supreme Court.

Similar Protests were staged in other parts of Kerala against the SC Verdict allowing women in menstrual age (10-50 years) into the temple.

Pandalam Royal Family is leading the protests against the Supreme Court verdict saying traditions that came into existence even before the constitution was framed should be continued. What does the Left-led Kerala Government do now?
