Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party deputy floor leader Shobha Nagi Reddy, 44, who succumbed to her injuries on Thursday morning was thrown out of her car as soon as it overturned, her bodyguard Srinivas said.
Throwing light on the incident, Srinivas who is currently recuperating, said that they left Nandyal at about 10:50 pm and the accident took place at 11:40 pm.
He added that the driver was speeding and was advised by his passengers to slow down. Soon they encountered a heap of paddy in the middle of the road and trying to avoid the heap the driver swerved and went atop a rock that caused the car to overturn.
Shobha who was sleeping was thrown out the very first time, the bodyguard said. An escort vehicle that was accompanying Shobha’s car soon rushed her to a nearby hospital.
Incidentally, Srinivas pointed out that the driver was not a regular one, but a substitute. Soon after the incident, Shobha’s husband, Bhuma Nagi Reddy was informed.
The driver, Nagender and both the bodyguards, Srinivas and Bhasa suffered injuries, but their condition is said to be stable.
