State Government Departments bifurcation process completes by June 2


departments-bifurcationHyderabad: Union Home secretary Anil Goswami has expressed satisfaction at the pace of bifurcation of various state government departments.

Goswami said the process is speedier than that in the three states that were bifurcated during the NDA regime in 2000. He expressed satisfaction at the progress of 15 committees that are working on dividing the departments.

The Union Home Secretary is in Hyderabad for expediting the process of bifurcation of the State. Goswami will be touring the State in the next two days to supervise and expedite the ongoing process.

A State government advisory committee has been set up in order to take decisions related to options of state cadre employees. However, Centre’s decision will be final in this regard.

When it comes to division of Corporations and public sector units, central officials have said that there is some flexibility in the statutes governing their functioning.

In his meeting with Chief Secretary PK Mohanthi, Anil Goswami has asked him to complete the process by June 2. Goswami has asked for a report on the status of bifurcating departments.

Goswami said a decision on continuation of contract employees, outsourcing employees will be taken by the Governor.

Anil Goswami has also called on Governor ESL Narasimhan. Anil is said to have informed the latter about the plan of the Center on bifurcation, distribution of officials, choosing of options and smooth pedaling of officials between the states.

Goswami may go back content with the functioning of Apex Committee, Advisory Committee and other committees.

Exercise on official’s distribution is still pending as guidelines for their distribution are to be framed. There is also a problem arising out of distributing about 56,000 state cadre employees. While Telangana employees are against options for state cadre posts, Seemandhra employees are demanding options.
