Survey can’t ask bank details: TDP

TDPHyderabad: Telangana Telugu Desam MLA, Revanth Reddy today seriously criticized Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for adopting false and hasty means to hold intensive household survey on Aug 19.

Addressing a press conference at NTR Trust Bhavan here, Revanth accused the CM of behaving like a dictator with regard to survey which seeks personal details like bank and post office accounts, PAN Card Number, assets and others. The survey which is aimed at throwing out AP people cannot find complete details in just 12 hours as 25 per cent of AP officials are being involved in the process. The government can find facts and weed bogus ration cards and punish the guilty but not at the cost of actual beneficiaries. He alleged that with no other go the CM is pressing a large number of enumerators who may include rowdies or thieves. If such persons are pressed into survey job, where will be the protection for people, he sought. It is totally wrong to ask personal details of each household he said adding that CM is violating democratic norms.

He found fault with the CM for saying that migration from his Palamur district has been stalled for some time now. The CM cannot ignore welfare and put to inconvenience the people for the survey, he said. Revanth demanded that the Government should ensure that the details are not misused. It is better if the CM takes initiative to cancel welfare schemes being implemented for ineligible.
