Election Commission has made all arrangements for the smooth conduct of polls in Telangana region tomorrow.
The first phase of simultaneous polls in Andhra Pradesh will be held for 119 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha seats of Telangana region, Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal said today.
“All arrangements have been made for the polls. Over one lakh EVMs have been sent to respective polling stations,” the CEO said while addressing a press conference.
Campaigning by political parties came to an end yesterday in Telangana, where 2.82 crore electorate are eligible to exercise their franchise in over 30,000 polling stations.
Bhanwarlal said besides the state police personnel, as many as 162 companies of central security forces, would be deployed to oversee security arrangements on the polling day.
As many as 1,669 candidates for Assembly and 265 candidates for Lok Sabha are in the poll fray.
April 30: Seventeen Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh went to the polls in the seventh phase on Wednesday. A total of 119 assembly seats in this region will also go to the polls on the same day. Over 28 million voters will cast their ballots in the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana region. A total of 265 candidates are in the fray out of which 12 are women. On an overall, 1665 candidates are contesting for 119 assembly seats.

12:40 pm: TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu, along with his wife Bhuvaneswari, son Lokesh and daughter – in -law Brahmani cast their votes at Gayatri hills in Hyderabad. Chandrababu returned from Seemandhra compaign this morning to franchise his voting right. He was not able to cast his vote to TDP, as the assembly and Lok sabha seats went to BJP as a part of alliance.
