Police said that Poornima Sai shared her unwillingness to go to school with her friends in another school during WhatsApp chats.
Her family has appealed to IT Minister K.T. Ramarao on Twitter to help them trace the girl.
The minister advised them to lodge a police complaint and has also instructed the police to trace her immediately after getting the plaint.
Poornima was in class X in Bhashyam School in Nizampet. On Wednesday, she left for school which is located around 400 metres from her home in Bachupally. When she did not return home till late evening, her father registered a missing case.
Police inquiries revealed that the girl was not interested in studies and was depressed because of pressure from her parents to study.
For the past few days, she had been telling friends on WhatsApp that she was bored at school and didn’t want to return after the holidays.
“She carried an extra pair of clothes and Rs 1,000 in cash with her,” says sub inspector G. Ramesh of the Bachupally police.
Her father’s friend Suryaprakash tweeted to KTR saying, “Sir, one of our friend’s daughter is missing from past two days. So far no information. Please help her…”
“Hope you’ve lodged a complaint with police” replied KTR, tagging the commissioners of Cyberabad, Hyderabad and Rachakonda.
Poornima was wearing black-coloured leggings and an ash coloured T-shirt when she left for school on Wednesday. Police are in the process of analysing the call data records of her mother’s mobile, which the girl was using.
