Indian sent an invitation to US President Donald Trump seeking his presence for the Republic Day parade next year. A communication in this regard was forwarded to the White House in April 2018. Trump Administration has been still considering and yet to take a final call.

All the major nations in the World have been affected by the Trade War begun by Donald Trump. India won’t be an exception for sure.

Particularly, Trump isn’t happy with India’s Oil Imports from Iran and purchase of S-400 Missile Defence System from Russia. There is every possibility of ties between India-US not remaining as strong as it was during Obama regime.

India is seeking waiver of sanctions America has been threatening to impose on crude oil imports from Iran. Whereas, US kept postponing 2+2 dialogue thrice in this year. Trump’s approach towards India can be known depending on how he responds to the invitation. If he accepts, Trump will be the second US President to grace Republic Day parade. Barack Obama was the chief guest for 2015 Republic Day.
