Finally here is the moment when the world gets to know “Why Kattappa kills Baahubali?” and there is no doubt that it is sure to break and make records worldwide. A true jewel in the Indian Cinema’s crown!
After Baahubali-The Beginning left us to crave for the second part, here comes the exclusive and the first ever review of Baahubali-The Conclusion starring Prabhas, Rana, Anushka, Tammanah, Ramya Krishna, Satayraj and others directed by S S Rajamouli under ARKA Productions.
After the story in the first part ended with the Kattappa revealing that he killed Baahubali, the suspense starts! Story starts off with flashback where Sivagami declares Baahubali to be king of Mahishmathi and Bhallaladeva to be Army Chief. Deep down in Bhallaladeva’s heart this did not go on well and tried his best to curb the throne through many means.
Meanwhile, Sivagami sends Baahubali to various villages to know the real problems of the people where he first sees Devasena being attacked by other kingdom soldiers. He saves her and doesn’t reveal his original identity. He sneaks into his kingdom along with Kattappa by telling her a cock-and-bull story and settles down there. He meets Kumara Varma in Kunthaladesam (Devasena’s kingdom) who is the brother-in-law of Devasena and thinks that Devasena loves him. Devasena doesn’t have parents while she lives with her brother and his family. Day by day Devasena gets closer to Baahubali.
In the meanwhile, when Bhallaladeva becomes aware of the news that Baahubali is in love with Devasena, he tries to spoil it by approaching Sivagami telling that he likes Devasena and Sivagami promises to get him married to Bhallaladeva as she is unaware of Baahubali in this scene. So Sivagami sends her messengers putting forth the proposal which mentions that his son is ready to marry her. But Devasena rejects that idea. Kattappa who gets to know about this proposal misunderstands that Sivagami thought of Baahubali and not Bhallaladeva. Kattappa also tells this news to Baahubali.
One fine day when Kunthaladesam is attacked by other army Baahubali reveals his original face and that’s when Devasena gets to know about him fully. Baahubali takes Devasena to Mahishmathi and that’s when the misunderstanding is made clear.
Sivagami then gives two options to Baahubali, whether he wants to marry Devasena or he wants the throne, Baahubali sacrifices the throne and marries Devasena. In no time Devasena gets pregnant. Meanwhile, during a usual meeting in the kingdom Devasena comes to king’s palace where the Army personnel misbehaves and that’s when she cuts his fingers. For this, she has been handcuffed.
Knowing this Baahubali comes to the king’s court and chops off the Army personnel’s head as he misbehaved with the women in the kingdom. Angered with Baahubali’s action, Sivagami punishes Baahubali by not letting him into the King’s court anymore. They now go and live with the people but Bhallala’s urge to get rid of Baahubali has never been satisfied.
What happened between Kattappa and Baahubali? Why did he kill him? How did Sivagami came to know the truth? Did Baahubali know why Kattappa killed him? What was Devasena’s reaction? How did Mahendra Baahubali took revenge on Bhallaladeva? Why did they have a face off? Is the remaining story!
Prabhas- This man is a true gem! Prabhas in Bahubali simply lived in the character. His dedication for the character must be lauded and the kind of hardwork he has put in is something that paid off in a beyond expectations way. Prabhas will make you cry, laugh, motivate and make you go crazy with his looks. His styling of jewellery should have been much better!
Rana- A perfect Anatagonist! Rana is another actor who mesmerises on screen and simply amazes audience. The kind of expression and emotions he portrayed are outstanding. His body in the climax scene is dangerously moulded. His evil smile, unpleasant dialogues were apt!
Anushka- Even though Anushka did not have much to offer in Part-1, as Devasena she completely snatches the show! Her looks, styling, acting skills, the X factors are all her add ons to this gutsy role.
Ramya Krishna- Her role in the second part has is way beyond powerful than the first one. She has been amazing in every frame. Each decision she makes is crystal clear and she is firm about it.
Satya Raj- His action is simply superb! The kind of fights, dialogues , sentiments and emotions were outstanding.
Nasser and Subbaraju also did justice to their roles and lived the larger than life roles. They were a treat to watch. Nasser was amazing with his voice modulation!
Need not mention, production values are top notch and are quite evident in every frame. All the grandeur and magnum things aren’t so easy to get !
The movie’s Cinematography by Senthil is one remarkable thing. Each frame looked so perfect and flawless!
M M Keeravani’s music is something that needs no introduction. All songs have a special place and Dandalayya is worth listening a million times. Background score was at another level.
Editing was good which was evident because of no unnecessary scenes and drag.
Most important technical aspect is the VFX. The team Makuta along with other teams from Bombay worked on it which is an added asset to the movie. They were some eye-grabbing scenes!
The movie has good Dialogues and makes us sentimental at times.
Screenplay was racy and never bored a single moment.
Costumes were eye-grabbing while jewellery of the male lead cast should have been much better.
The amazing views, designs, visuals by the Art Department is too good. They must be appreciated for the kind of work they have delivered.
S S Rajamouli, the silent killer! After Bahubali-The Beginning released not many expected that the answer to the question WKKB would be so crisp as this is first time a movie like this kind happened! But yes finally he struck a metal costlier than the costly one. The Conclusion is outstanding and his vision to dream of a project like Bahubali must be applauded. Every minute detail has been addressed and a mention about the movie is that there is no perfect movie, but best movies are always there! Baahubali is the perfect movie among the best movies.
Slightly Predictable second half
Certain unrealistic fight scenes
First half of the film is excellent with a superb interval block. Second half is good with story and internal political drama taking precedence. Plus points of the film are Rajamouli’s classy vision and conceiving of scenes, first half, interval episode, background music, characterizations and actors. On the flipside, pace slows down in second half and climax appear extended. Despite a couple of shortcomings, Baahubali: The Conclusion gives a perfect ending to the Baahubali: The Beginning. You must watch it in the best theater!
