Jai (Sai Dharam Tej) is brought up as a righteous patriotic youngster by his dad who is a teacher by profession. Jai who gets attracted to Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) ideology starts preparing for DRDO exam but his selection is put on hold due to lack of experience.
At the same time he by chance finds out that some conspiracy is going on when a person tries to get the fake seal of DRDO. To find out the conspiracy, its connection with Keshav (Prasanna) and how he saves his country and family along with his lover Bhargavi (Mehreen), watch Jawaan on silver screen.
Sai Dharam Tej performed in a energetic manner. His body language is good and attracted with his dances and stunts. However he should improve upon his expressions to create even powerful impact. Some of his dance movements however turned out to be routine and monotonous.
Mehreen oozed with glamour to attract movie lovers. She however should concentrate on her weight. Prasanna is good as a antagonist. He at times resembled Aravind Swamy in Dhruva. Prasanna however did not get much scope to show variations in his expressions.
Others like Satyam Rajesh, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Naga Babu performed according to their roles.
Thaman came with foot tapping beats to attract masses. All the songs are well shot but few of them acted as speed breakers. He elevated the scenes with his background score.
Guhan’s cinematography is grand as he showed all the locations in a lavish manner. SR.Sekhar editing could have done away with the drags in the film especially in the second half.
BVS Ravi should have plugged in the loopholes and included few more twists and turns and planned the climax in a different manner for even better results. Production values are good.
Sai Dharam Tej
BVS Ravi teamed with Sai Dharam Tej and tried to arise the patriotism in masses adding commercial elements to his narration. He came with a good plot and started the narration in a earnest manner. He ends the first half in a decent manner with good interval twist.
Till this time one gets a feeling that they are witnessing similar interesting flick in the lines of Dhruva and Tupaki. However all that evaporates in the second half as BVS Ravi decided to add mass elements deviating from the plot.
While showing the mind games between hero and the villain, he suddenly loses plot to include a song or deviate from the topic. He even missed many logics like entire government force doing nothing even after the coming to know the sinister design to steal DRDO designed missile OCTOPUS by the enemies.
Not even masses will appreciate the way BVS.Ravi showed police commissioner as buffoon with the hero taking the lead in the climax. He ended the film in the typical 80s style with police coming to help the innocents after everything is finished. Wonder when filmmakers learn to respect the intelligence of the masses. BVS Ravi and Sai Dharam Tej after promising much with Jawaan, failed in the story, screenplay and direction ,turning into a silly man.
