Released on February 28, Nakul and Mrudhula Basker’s Vallinam is a movie about Basket ball players.Written and directed by Arivazhagan Venkatachalam of Eeram fame, Nakul’s Vallinam casts Atul Kulkarni, Jagan, Anupama Kumar and others in pivotal roles. SS Thaman has composed rocking numbers for Vallinam music album, befitting the film’s theme.

After recieving good reviews for his performance in Naan Rajavaga Pogiren, Nakul Jaidev is back as a zealous basketball player in Vallinam. Will Nakul proves his hardship in the movie? Vallinam is a sports drama film directed by Arivazhagan Venkatachalam and produced by Aascar Ravichandran. Vallinam stars Nakul in the character of a basket ball player. The movie focuses on Basketball and talks about sports that have been ignored in India owing to cricket. It is a sports thriller that has an intriguing story, a story with a message. Actor Siddharth Jonnalagadda who plays the character of the villain in the film is a cricket player while Atul Kulkarni plays the character of a Basketball coach.

Vallinam is a movie that is different from the usual Kollywood movies. It focuses on sports and the story talks about the game of Basketball in a way that connects with the audiences. Nakul has done an impressive job as a basketball player and debutant Mrudhula Basker has also made her presence felt in the movie with her strong yet subtle performance. It is a refreshing sports story that is worth watching once.

What is surprising though, is that in the end credits of the movie, photographs of prominent sports personalities like Sachin Tendulkar, PT Usha, Naren Karthikeyan, MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, Vishwanathan Anand and Leander Paes appear as a tribute to them which includes Ajith Kumar, who participated in professional car and bike races.
