Needless to say, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has stunned the whole of Telugu fraternity with the way Telangana hosted Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu in Hyderabad. While there are remarks here and there, about Andhra biggies not getting a mention and also an invite, the songs filmed by popular directors have something else to say.
However, Telangana government invested huge money to get some songs filmed by noted directors of Telugu Industry. And if we look at the visuals of the songs, they are rich and very attractive too. Generally people expect a touch of Telangana to these songs, but conceptually is it Telangana all through, however, when we look at stars, it looked like little Andhra overdose.
Jai Hoo song: Directed by Harish Shankar, this is an energetic song shot in the backdrop of Golconda. Paying tributes to greatest poets of Telangana, the song actually gives some goosebumps. But when it comes to casting, proper Andhra babulu like Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Sunil and Raj Tarun made their presence felt. And beautiful non-Telugu heroines like Lavanya Tripathi, Shalini Pandey, Ritu Varma added more colour to it.
Bathukamma Song: As the name suggests, the song explains how this festival of flowers originated and celebrated. While the most known Telangana face in the star galaxy of the song is anchor Udayabhanu, Andhra based celebs like Jhansi, senior actresses Srilakshmi and Annapurna are amongst others. Jayasudha is a shocking entrant, while Pragathi is another starlet. And it features non-Telugu actresses like Regina and Malavika Nair as main leads. This song is directed by Nandini Reddy.
Holi song: Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, this song has rebel star Vijay Deverakonda in the lead, while Mehrene appeared as lady kick. However this festival of colours being a national one, we can’t add the colour of Telangana alone, but it got the glitterati anyway.
