CBI raids on Jagan’s residence and offices


CBI has intensified its investigation into the alleged disproportionate assets of the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy after obtaining court permission.

It is learnt that sleuths of the agency who have been searching the offices and residence for the past three days have conducted simultaneous raids on residential and office premises of Jagan on Saturday.

Sleuths led by SP Venkatesh have raided Bharati Cements, Janani Infra and other companies and seized several important documents. It is learnt that some documents pertaining to some benami transactions were also seized. Though the agency sources are stating that raids were conducted at five places, it is reliably learnt that there were raids at 12 places.

It is learnt that CBI is also planning to conduct raids on some of the alleged benami companies of Jagan. Officials of the agency said that they were making arrangements to conclude the investigation as early as possible in view of the Supreme Court’s direction to conclude it by March 31, 2013. They are also stating that they found information about some of the suitcase companies.
