His Ongole Gitta, Hyper, Shivam, Maska all failed at the box office and hence, he mostly sticked to family films and romantic movies with mixed results.
He did find a good fan base for his films even though he never went onto put up a big gross like 50-60 crores, which Nani, Vijay Devarakonda, Nithiin did.
He proved that he can be an asset to a mass masala movie with Ismart Shankar as Puri handled him well. He gave the actorgood dance numbers, popular one liners and himself said he is “thurumu”, on camera in the film.
Ram could lift the film from average status and it ended up being a blockbuster as pure mass movies that are engaging enough have dried out.
After doing all this, he joined his family and friends, for a vacation which he planned thinking Ismart Shankar will release during May-June period. But it released in July and he couldn’t cancel.
Several rumours came out that Ram is unhappy with Puri Jagannath, Charmee – the producers of the film. But he cleared those immediately. Now, he is coming back to India and Puri is promising double impact celebrations with the hero.
