Jayalailatha’s Biopic lands Two Directors In Trouble


Biopics of famous celebrities mostly strike gold at the box-office. Bollywood has produced many biopics, compared to the southern industries.

Biopic of former Dhoni, M.S.Dhoni has collected a striking 216 at the box office. The southern industries have started experiencing with biopics recently. While a biopic of Late N.T.Rama Rao bombed at box 0ffice.

After the demise of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, some of the Tamil directors have announced films on her life.

If the reports are to be believed, Jayalalitha’s niece J Deepa has filed a petition in the Madras High Court. The civil suit states that directors AL Vijay and Goutham Vausev Menon have been served notices as they have not acquired the rights for the story of Jayalalitha. Deepa said that these films will hinder the privacy of her family.

The Madras High Court has sent notices to both the filmmakers and asked them to respond to this before November 14th. Vishnu Induri, who will direct ‘Thalaivi’ film made it clear that he has acquired the rights of her family from their family members.

To know how these filmmakers will respond to this, we may have to wait a few more days
