Talented young hero, Sharwanand’s career was going on at jet speed with back-to-back hits before the arrival of ‘Padi Padi Leche Manasu’. This film completely changed the dynamic. It was a huge flop despite having hit music and ended up in losses. His next movie ‘Ranarangam’ also failed to impress the audience. After a brief gap, he attempted a remake like ‘Jaanu’.
Sharwanand did not promote the film aggressively as he may have thought it might draw comparisons with original and especially with Vijay Sethupati. Despite getting decent reviews, the film is not able to pull the crowds into theatres. The film was sold for 19 crores but it earned only 6.60 crores in the first three days. This means it has to collect more than 12 crores to reach the breakeven mark. The collections on Monday were not at all encouraging. Trade analysts are predicting that ‘Jaanu’ may end up as a box-office failure.
If it happens, Sharwanand will be scoring a hattrick of flops which will affect his market very badly. His next film ‘Sreekaram’ will be released in summer. If that film fails to succeed, Sharwa’s career may seriously end up in jeopardy.
