Heavy rains led to flooding in Vadodara City. Record rainfall of 499 mm was recorded in just 24 hours in this part of Gujarat. That is when a Police Officer emerged as a real hero by risking his life to save the life of a baby.
Flood Water reached Devipura Locality in Vishwamitri Railway Station. Cops walked though flooded roads to alert the locals for making them shift to a safe location. Upon knowing that a Woman and her One-and-a-Half Year Old Baby were trapped in a flooded house, Sub-Inspector Chavda rushed to the spot to save them. He asked the Mother for a plastic tub to place the child in it for safety reasons. While placing the plastic tub with baby on his head, SI walked through 5-feet deep water for 1.5 km to reach a safe spot. Both the Mother and Child were rescued.
The feat of Sub-Inspector Chavda reminds us of the opening sequence in ‘Baahubali – The Beginning’ in which Sivagami carries Baahubali on her head while passing through a water body. It’s Officers like Chavda who commands immense respect from public and they truly deserve it.
