Tollywood moving away from Prime to Netflix

Prabhas’s big-budget action flick ‘Saaho’ is streaming on Amazon Prime Video from today. Just 50 days after its release, the film is on the internet. Before this, Nani’s ‘Gang Leader’ was streamed within a month from its release. As of today, Amazon Prime is the biggest digital streaming site in India and especially in Telugu.

Every film that Prime buys is being streamed within a shot span. It doesn’t have any censor and doesn’t even limit the usage. Many can watch from a single account unlike other sites like ‘Zee5’ or ‘Sun Next’. This made Prime very popular and it is effecting the buyers to a large extent.

At this time, the producers and film makers are finding Netflix as a better option. ‘Netflix’ is the biggest streaming site in the world but its reach is limited in India because of its high subscription fee. Also, there is a limit on how many persons could use from a single account and it streams films after a minimum of 70 days from its release. Already, the makers of Samantha’s ‘Oh! Baby’ and Nagarjuna’s ‘Manmadhudu 2’ have sold their films to Netflix. Many Bollywood films are being sold to Netflix. So, the film makers are slowly trying to move away from Prime Video.
