With the ongoing pandemic, many sectors and fields wnt through severe losses. But the Migrant workers and daily wage workers are the ones faced the utmost loss with the situations. To lend a helping hand to the migrant workers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan scheme which aims at creating jobs for the millions of migrant workers who were forced to return to their native places under various schemes.
Under the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan scheme, Rs 50,000 crore will be spent to help the migrants to get jobs at their native places. This focused campaign will run for 125 days in six states across the 116 districts.
This focused program was started from the Telihar village of Khagaria district in Bihar as a pilot project and the program will be covering 116 districts of the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
Union minister of rural development Narendra Singh Tomar and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar were among those who were present during the launch.
