After a long gap, senior director Gunasekhar is handling the megaphone again. Post ‘Rudhramadevi’, he is coming with another female-oriented mythological script. He is making a film on Shakunthala Devi from Mahabharata period. The project was announced a couple of months back.
Star heroine Samantha Akkineni has been roped in for the lead role and the film was officially launched a while. The pooja ceremony for this big-budget film was held in a private studio in Hyderabad. Producers Dil Raju and Allu Aravind graced the event while Samantha looked absolutely gorgeous in a special saree.
Produced under ‘Guna Team Works’, ‘Shaakunthalam’ will be going on floors soon and the official details regarding the rest of the cast and crew will be coming out shortly.
