Teaser Talk: Vibrant & Youthful ‘Stand Up Rahul’!

Young and promising hero Raj Tarun is all set to entertain the audience with his urban romantic comedy titled ‘Stand Up Rahul’. Directed by debutant Santo Mohan Veeranki, Raj Tarun plays the role of stand up comedian Rahul who spills out tame jokes. The first look posters created a good impression on the film and handsome hero Rana Daggubati has revealed the teaser of this flick.

This coming-of-age feel-good romantic comedy is being produced by Nandakumar Abbineni and Bharath Maguluri under ‘Dream Town Productions’ and ‘High Five Pictures’ banners. Looking at the teaser, it gives you a colourful and trendy vibe. The concept of stand-up comedy hasn’t been explored in Tollywood before and Raj Tarun is seen as the guy who bores the audience with his jokes but still tries hard to become successful. He is often spotted with headphones around his neck and the scene between him and heroine Varsha Bollamma in the bathroom is quite hilarious.

Varsha who acted in films like ‘Bigil’ and ‘Middle Class Melodies’ looks cool in the teaser and makes her presence felt and top comedian Vennela Kishore seems to have bagged another funny role. How a regular guy who is a reluctant stand-up comedian turns into someone successful due to this passion, love and parents for the crux of this story. The teaser is crisp and is sure to raise the expectations of the audience. Apart from Raj Tarun and Varsha Bollamma, we have Vennela Kishore, Murali Sharma, Devi Prasad, Indraja, Madhurima and others playing key roles.

The film is written and directed by Santo Mohan Veeranki while Sweekar Agasthi is scoring the music. Ravi Teja Girijala is going to edit this flick while Sreeraj Raveendran cranks the camera. The release date of this urban romantic comedy is yet to be announced.

Raj Tarun has been waiting for a good hit to get back on form. He scored a hattrick with his first three films but he wasn’t able to find a good success since then. He was busy during the lockdown period too with multiple digital releases. Let us wait and see which direction ‘Stand Up Rahul’ takes.
