Is Chintala Vijayasanthi TRS Mayor Candidate

She is a second time corporator and she has the right pedigree to boast of. The latest about this young politico is that she is eyeing the post of Mayor of the GHMC. Sources say she has the backing of her local MLA and two ministers in the KCR cabinet. Meet Chintala Vijayasanthi. She is the corporator from Alwar and has won for the second consecutive term. She had defeated the BJP candidate by over 2500 votes in a keenly fought election. She is the daughter-in-law of former MLA Chintala Kanaka Reddy. She has the backing of two key ministers – Malla Reddy and Etela Rajender. Both are said to be lobbying for her.

There are other claimants too for the GHMC post. The mayoral post is reserved for woman (general) and Rajya Sabha MP KK’s daughter and outgoing mayor Bonthu Rammohan’s wife Bonthu Sridevi too are aspiring for the post. They are also said to be lobbying hard. But, Vijayasanthi has the support of both the powerful ministers and also local MLA Mynampalli Hanumanth Rao. It remains to be seen if she manages to become Mayor or not.
