Story:

The story is about a 20-year old musician Samar Anand played by Shahrukh Khan.

He is a jolly person and roams around international locales with his acoustic guitar. Samar is cheerful and he loves strumming his instrument and sings in the streets.

Soon this musician falls in love with Khushi played by  Katrina Kaif. But his proposal is torpedoed by the lady when she says “we are just friends”.

Heartbroken and dejected, Samar leaves London to serve his country India and joins the army to be posted in Kashmir. He is not the same Samar of London anymore, but is an introverted, composed, dutiful army officer in Kashmir.

Khan as Samar is an angry, unforgiving, army officer, with loads of emotional baggage.

Few years later a 21-year old, full of life, girl Akira played by Anushka Sharma, enters his life in Kashmir.

Akira works for Discovery Channel and is an aspiring documentary filmmaker and this profession brings her to make another documentary in this heavenly state.

But here again Samar falls in love with this lady. Now will Samar find his true love in Akira or will Khushi return in his life. The story ends up with numerous twists and turns which you can’t predict.

Though not a perfect Yash Chopra flick, but he is brilliant with his classic  direction. He wants to connect you with the emotions you share with your loved ones.

He describes how difficult it is to forget and forgive your true love. Along with the love saga, the legend keeps intact the nobility of army and its officers, similar to his last venture “Veer- Zaara”.

The flick is high on emotion and romance. The beautiful locales of Britain and Kashmir  will blow away your mind.

Performances:

Shahrukh Khan SRK needs no verdict on this. The actor has done a brilliant comeback a romantic, lover boy, Shahrukh Khan, as this is what he is known for.

His voice to the poetry sounds good to ears. The passion he delivers towards Khushi, would encourage anyone to love like him. As a disciplined army officer he shines.

Katrin Kaif devotes herself a lot into the charming role of Khushi. Though she isn’t quiet successful in delivering what is required but her wardrobes makes her look so beautiful that anybody could fall in love with her.

Anushka, the fun loving girl gets less exposure in comparison to Katrina, but she appears to be convincing in her role.

The supoorting cast namely Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor as Samar’s guardians and Anupam Kher as Khushi’s father plays their part well.

Technicalities:

And frankly speaking of AR Rahman’s music, he doesn’t need to prove himself after winning two Oscars but in line with his  caliber he didn’t deliver his best.

Rahman’s music always leaves an impact but apart from JTHJ’s ‘Challa’ and ‘Saas’ the other tracks though perfectly adds to the plot but won’t be remembered for a long.

Its worth a  ***/5   for the Yash Chopra’s classic love saga and for SRK’s passionate love figure. Go with your sweethearts to witness the last ride of the King of  Romance-Yash Chopra.

Final Verdict:

Romance has been  late  Yash Chopra’s hallmark, and he will be remembered for decades for his romantic flicks. Chopra last  directed a 2004 love saga “Veer Zaara” turned out to be a hit.

After eight long years he is reinventing romance “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”. What we expect from a Yash Chopra romance are mesmerizing locations, beautiful poetries, heartwarming moments and  unforgettable melodies.

We get to see the same and up, the deadly combination of SRK, Yash Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Gulzar and AR Rahman has done wonders for lovers.

It’s finally the season of Diwali and some eternal ‘luv shuv’. And, with this, our desperate wait to grab the taste of the season’s most dhamakedaar release Jab Tak Hai Jaan ends today.JTHJ is a sure blockbuster!
