Intelligent horror flicks always proved to be a profitable ventures for the producers, if the director is confident of the thrill factors in the film then it will be a sure shot success. Debut director Deekay has chosen a ‘horror’ genre with Yamirukka Bayamey, will it end up as a successful venture? Read on to know…

Kreshna is a wannabe business man who sells sex pills via TV program, unfortunately a don’s (Mahanadi Shankar) son acts in his advertisement and his sparrow dies(watch it in theater to know the secret). Deeply frustrated Mahanadi Shankar orders Kreshna to see a beautiful bride for his son or else he threatens to take away Kreshna’s girl friend Rupa Manjuri.

Mean time Kreshna gets a letter from his real father (another Kreshna) that he has written a will of an old estate in Kreshna’s name and to Kreshna’s bad luck the building is highly damaged, Krishna betrays don’s son by saying that he will arrange wed lock for him with actress and gets 40 lakhs to renovate his dad’s building into a hotel. Mean time Kreshna meets Karunakaran who is his father’s friend and Oviya who is Karuna’s sister.

When the hotel gets opened, series people who are visiting dies in a bizarre fashion and all the four burries those dead bodies in the same estate. When a gardener digs the buried place, he didn’t find anything. Where are those dead bodies? Why such deaths happened in first place? Well, the answer is left for you to watch the film in big screen.

What makes Yamirukka Bayame as a unique film from all the previous horror flick is its humor factor. All the characters in the film evoke good laughter, especially the episode where Karunakaran’s words become real and the series of deaths happening is thorughly enjoyable. Though the first 15 minutes of the film are not that much engaging with explicit ‘A’ type dialogues, once the film moves to the main theme the pace gets accelerated and the director maintained the tempo throughout the movie.

Debut director Deekay must be applauded for making the film as highly entertaining, also the comedy doesn’t seems to be forced and all the character brings laughter through the situational comedies. As a matter of fact all the characters are in a fear state but we the audience are bursting into laughter and it is a rare thing to happen, the rarest thing is that the director has maintained the comic factor even in climax which is quite enjoyable.

Discussing about the performances, Kreshna has done his part very well and Yamirukka Bayamey is going to be another level in his career. The director has maintains the glam factor with Rupa and Oviya, which is very much necessary for a horror flick but then things never went overboard.

Among the two heroine Rupa Manjuri looks adorable and her big eyes help for the fear factor in the climax. The pick of the cast is of course Karunakaran, the actor constantly evokes good laughter and it is very difficult to control laughter in almost all of his scenes. Karunakaran is having a great future in the industry; if Soodhu Kavvum is his visiting card then Yamirukka Bayame will take him to a new level.

Coming to the technicalities, Sreekar Prasad’s crisp editing helps the film to a major extend. His racy cuts gives thrilling feel and music director’s SN Prasad’s BGM is pulsating. Also the Velai Pandhu song is hummable and the picutrization is very cool, cinematographer Raamy’s angles and color tone gives the necessary thrill factor to the film.

Overall, Yamirukka Bayamey is highly entertaining comic, horror-thriller of this season, must watch for all horror film lovers.
