The Deol clan is back with an action packed Yamla Pagla Deewana sequel. Comedy has now taken to a new level with  flicks like Kya Super Kool Hain Hum and others, to name a few, and this one survives just because of the Deol family’s utterly nonsense drama.Like its precursor which was a comeback for the Deol family after ‘Apne’ , Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, has its share of humour but only if it you are not addicted to adult gags or have that appetite to digest genteel error of comedies.

Dharam Singh (Dharmendra) and Gajodhar (Bobby Deol)  have progressed to London with a new profession of becoming priests with n number of devotees to follow. But they aren’t that religious but are cons.

The father-son duo rob a number of disciples over there. Their profession is so effective that it tempts a bankrupt Sir Yograj (Annu Kapoor) to take their help. But Dharam baba finds a jackpot in the form of Anu’s daughter Suman (Neha Sharma) with whom he wants Gajodhar to marry.

Enters Palwinder Singh (Sunny Deol) with his dhai kilo ka haath. He is a debt collector and is given the task to reclaim the entire debt amount from  for which he plots to become a manager in Gajodhar’s club but is hit by Cupid’s  arrow for his second daughter Reet (Kristina Akheeva).

Now will the con duo be able to hit the jackpot and will PS forget his duty for his latest crush? That is how the story deals further.

Director Samir Narik takes his time to build up the drama in the flick but sooner or later loses the momentum.

With too many actors and confusion between each one’s stories, you tend to get exhausted  and want to move on.

The  talents of  renowned actors namely Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever, Sucheta Khanna have not been fully utilized,  or rather they have been under-utilized. The director pays no serious  attention whatsoever to plotting, storytelling, demarcating a character, building lucidity or giving logics.  Like its precursor he just adds pinches of humour with no permission to utilize any wits in those and but just to have a good time altogether with use of Salman Khan to spice up some scenes.

Not the real Khan but the caricature of the Dabbang Khan is utilized at many places making you at least giggle if not laugh. The orangutan  introduced is just to fill the holes in the script which isn’t possible for this big teddy creature.

With  two divas Neha Sharma and Kristina,  the glamour quotient and beauty gets a bit  of space to twinkle your eyes for a while.

Coming back to the Deol trio. When Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol are churned at one place then how could be the bone crunching action sequences be left away. This is one department where the flick excels in, with Sunny at the fore to force his ‘dhai kilo ka haath’ over the baddies.

But the two hour thirty minutes runtime is a huge  one to witness this unabsorbing drama.

By performance if we look at Dharmendra, he is the one who seems to be fully enjoying his role like a little kid. No matter how much older he gets year by year, he is and will forever be young at heart.

Suuny Deol is brilliant as an angry and as well as a humorous person.  Bobby Deol is good. Neha Sharma and Kristina deliver a good show together.

Anu Kapoor after ‘Vicky Donor’ gives another fine performance.  Other supporting actor namely Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever plays their part well.

Music by Sharib-Toshi adds great support in the background. Aida hi Nachna is the pick of the album.

With just one release this week, YPD 2 is surely going to gross good at the ticket counters. While Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’s run at the tills  is still on, it just might disturb this comedy caper.

Complete Review will be Update Soon….
