Vetrimaaran’s last flick Aadukalam won a National Award. After this film, he announced Vada Chennai with producer Dayanidhi Azhagiri, but unfortunately the project is still in pre-production stage. Well, it did not deter him to much extent as he came up with another script and gave opportunity to his former associate Manimaran to direct the film. The movie is made under Cloud Nine Movies. Read on for the review to know what it has to offer.
Story:
Udhayam NH4 is a road movie starring Siddharth, newcomer Ashrita Shetty and Kay Kay Menon. The story of the film is about a Tamilan named Prabhu, who is pursuing engineering in Bangalore, and a Bangalore-based girl Rikshitha (Ashritha Shetty). She is the daughter of Karnataka Chief Minister and she gets kidnapped by Prabhu and his friends. But his beliefs turn false as he fails to catch him in the set time. The unexpected things follow and what happens next should be seen on-screen.
The major part of the story is set in Bangalore-Tamil Nadu National Highway 4, which links four of the 10 most populous Indian cities – Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai. The story of the film is predictable after sometime, but the screenplay makes the difference. The makers of the film have tried to make it short and a racy romantic thriller. Audience will get to hear English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam languages being spoken in the film. However, the most interesting part of the story is that there lies a precious message in the film. The first half of Udhayam NH4 is engaging and the second half is entertaining.
The other highlight of the film is the director has not added unwanted scenes. Nonetheless, there is humour in the film. Not to forget, the thrilling car chase sequences and stunt scenes.
Stars Performance on NH4:
Siddharth and Kay Kay Menon have come out with flying colours. Interestingly, the former has tried to do some action sequences, which have to be praised. The latter looks stylish. Ashirta Shetty is good and appears to be a promising actress.
Technicalities in Laying NH4:
The biggest flaw in the film is poor dubbing works. Especially, Siddharth’s lip-sync is bad. Other than this, there are minor errors which can be ignored as the film is worth a watch.
Velraj’s cinematography is excellent, GV Prakash’s music and background score is wonderful and Kishore’s editing is good.
The music director of this movie is G.V.Prakash and he has given a good album.This is already rocking in the market. In this movie there will be a situational song.Siddharth was impressed with this song so he himself sung that song.
