Tenali Ramakrishna BA.BL Movie Review

Sundeep Kishan has been promoting his latest film Tenali Rama Krishna on an aggressive note from the past few weeks. The film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Tenali Ramakrishna(Sundeep Kishan) is a lawyer who involves in small time off-court settlements. One fine day, he gets involved in a case featuring Vara Lakshmi(Vara Lakshmi Sarath Kumar) who is being cheated by another lawyer played by Murali Sharma. But things get out of hand when a key twist featuring Vara Lakshmi is leaked. What is that twist and how will Tenali handle all this in the court of law. That forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

The film is a funny courtroom drama which starts of quite well. The premise is superb and the characters are also relatable. The film is narrated in a funny manner through the first half and the twist is also brought in a decent manner.

The second half also starts with a bang with another key twist. But thereon, the film becomes so silly that you only see over the top and logicless scenes.

The film runs in such a way that you won’t even understand that the film is over. A very good point is lost in translation and the film is made silly. Sundeep Kishan shines in his role and his chemistry with Hansika is very good.

Murali Sharma is apt in his role but Vara Lakshmi Sarath Kumar is made weak and silly in the second half. Her role looks silly and has no seriousness at all. Saptagiri was very good with his comedy and so was Prabhas Sreenu. Posani was okay.

Plus Points:

Comedy in the first half

Key Twists

Music

Minus Points:

Logicless scenes

Over the top comedy in the second half

Dull Climax

Verdict:

Tenali Rama Krishna is a film which starts off quite well but falls flat in the second half. The comedy generated, twists and good songs are plus points in the first half and set the tone for a superb second half. But shockingly, the makers’ loose the plot as the silly proceedings, over the cop comedy, age-old narration and abrupt climax take down the film and make this film a below-par watch.
