Covid-19 dose likely to cost 250 per dose!


Ahead of the second phase of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Central government permitted the private hospitals to vaccinate the people and fixed prices for the vaccine doses reportedly.

It has been widely reported that the Centre fixed the vaccine dose price at Rs 250 for a dose. In the second phase of vaccination, people above the age of 60 years and people above 45 years of age with comorbidities will be given importance in vaccination.

A single vaccine dose will cost Rs 150 and a service charge of Rs 100 is chargeable from the vaccine beneficiaries by the private hospitals. Including the service charges, the vaccine dose would cost Rs 250.

Media reports claimed that the National Health Mission has fixed the prices for the vaccine doses after chairing a crucial meeting with the key officials. The orders on the same will be sent to the States and Union Territories will be sent soon.

The government has decided to make private hospitals a part of the vaccine so that the vaccine drive can be taken further as the facilities at the private hospitals will come in handy.

The vaccination drive in the second phase will be held in a way that the vaccine doses will reach the public health facilities that have cold chain facilities. The doses will reach the private hospitals from there, reports claimed.
