Now there is one more entry level handset in the market. No I am not talking about the just announced Samsung’s Galaxy Star that comes with 3 inch touchscreen, 1GHz processor and Android Jelly Bean, but a handset by an Indian smart phone vendor Celkon. The handset is simply an entry level handset and doesn’t come with any special attractions.
The low price tag of Rs 7K may be an attraction for some people, and I am sure many people are going to fall for it as the handset has decent specifications and features for such a low price tag. The handset comes with an impressive five inch touch screen and other innards that power it. Though there are even cheaper handsets like Samsung Galaxy Star that has been announced today that comes with Android Jelly Bean for the price of around Rs 5000, this handset has its own strength that will attract customers towards it without doubt.
This latest handset from Celkon is sure a winner in the making and will impress the people who will buy or even test it. Celkon Signature One A107 comes with dual SIM option like most of the handsets being launched by Indian smartphone manufacturers. I fail to understand why they are so much interested in putting two SIM cards in their handsets.
Besides the handset comes with 5-inch capacitive touchscreen, 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 5 inch, 8 megapixel rear camera, besides a 0.3 megapixel front camera. The handset will run on Ice Cream Sandwich. It is a big let down for users. The handset can be expanded to 32 GB expandable memory, by MicroSD card.
