The HTC Desire 816 has finally been launched in India at very affordable price. The Taiwanese smartphone maker seems to have realized that offering good handsets at affordable rates will increase its profits instead of launching very high priced handsets.
The handset was showcased in the Indian market at least several weeks ago and the launch at such a good price may help the company get a good response from the Indian smartphone mavens.
There is no denying the fact that the market for high-end handset seems to have saturated in the country. But the demand for mid-range and low end entry level handsets will continue to go up for years and years. A tiny fraction of the Indian population actually owns smartphones at the moment.
The handset looks nice with 5.5-inch HD IPS display and an impressive 13 mega pixel rear camera. Another feature that will come in its favour its its 5 mega pixel front facing camera.
The dual SIM smartphone is powered by a 1.6GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor with GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 radios. When it comes to the operating system it runs on Android KitKat with HTC’s Sense UI.
