LG Android Kitkat update rolling out OTA to Optimus G Pro, Optimus G

LG-Optimus-G-ProTwo sources have confirmed that the LG Optimus G Pro and Optimus G smartphones are receiving Android KitKat updates OTA. It’s nice to see LG continuing to care about customers who’ve bought these handsets which were launched in the market more than a year ago.

We’re not saying that software updates are not owed to those who buy phones such as the LG Optimus G and Optimus G Pro or any others, but not all companies bother with pushing out upgrades once their devices are finally snapped up by buyers. It just leaves users feeling like they’re left with a brick in their hands when upgrades don’t come their way.

GSMArena points to LG Brazil’s Facebook page which notes that Android KitKat is being rolled out for the two devices in question. On the other hand, AndroidOS says that v4.4.2 of the software is now reaching the Optimus G Pro E988 in India. Word is that the upgrade is also going out to users in other Asian countries such as Indonesia.
