Google Touchscreen Chromebook Release Date Pegged for 2012 End

In September, Google unveiled its low cost Chromebook manufactured by Samsung at a price tag of $249 (approx. Rs 13,500).Now according to a new report by China Times, the Mountain Veiw Valley based company is secretly prepping to launch a touch screen Chromebook, following the successful launch of its Nexus device line up.

Further, the report informed that the new line of touchscreen Chromebook would be definitely expensive than the existing range of Chromebooks present in the market. Meanwhile, the report also informed that the software giant will be unveiling the self branded Chromebook with touchscreens manufactured by Compal, a Taiwan-based ODM.

Currently, not much detail has been disclosed regarding the specs and other features of the upcoming touch enabled Chromebook series, however, it has been informed that it will ship by the end of 2012.

Well, if the rumors turn out to be true then, Google’s web-centric operating system packaged with self-branded hardware will be a direct attack on the market dominance of Microsoft and its recently launched Microsoft Surface tablets.
