Jai Ho Movie Review
The concept of corruption isn’t new for Bollywood movies. With the society plagued with this epidemic, so it is natural that the producers have used the corruption to give cult hits. Sohail Khan’s “Jai Ho” uses this same funda of corruption, but in a new and unique way. And, the charge on screen is led by Sohail’s enigmatic brother Salman Khan.
Jai Agnihotri (Salman Khan) is a retired army officer who has simple aim in life to help those in need and encourage others to do so. And, this circle of humanitarian benevolent people slowly expands with everyone trying to help needy. But this move doesn’t go well with local politician (Danny Dezongpa) who in order to break the backbone of the movement targets Jai’s mother (Nadira Babbar) and sister Geeta (Tabu). Jai isn’t one to backdown, he takes fight to his enemies with his movement following him.
The star of the movie as expected is Salman Khan. With his swagger and simplicity he completely dominates the movie. His generosity is endearing and his aggression is truly entertaining. With such a virtuoso performance, he surely is going to lead his younger brother’s movie successfully on the box office. The debutant Daisy Shah has also done a decent job in her limited role.
Veteran villain Danny has returned to screen in negative avtar after a long hiatus. He successfully plays the role of corrupt, ruthless politician. Other actors Suniel Shetty, Ashmit Patel, Bruna Abdullah, Yash Tonk and Sana Khan have also done a commendable job in the movie.
The concept of the movie which is based on building a chain of generous and philanthropic individuals is refreshing. The action scenes featuring Salman Khan in a bone crushing role are nicely shot. The fights scenes are efficiently choreographed and are adequately used without overburdening the movie with them. The background score by Sandeep Shirodkar is also brilliant.
The movie is little lacking in innovation and script development. Sohail solely relies on Salman to carry the movie, the responsibility which Salman capably shoulders.
A must watch for Salman and Danny fans. And, the concept of the movie makes it an interesting watch for others as well.
Jai Ho Critics Review And Rating
Sarah Belhasa, Entrepreneur and Vice President of Belhasa Group of Companies: “It was a brilliant movie with a great social message. Salman acted wonderfully and Daisy is a great dancer.”

Raza Beig, CEO of Splash and Iconic: “As a family, we are die-hard Salman fans. We all went for the movie. I’ve seen the movie twice – once in Mumbai and once here. It’s a full-fledged Salman masala movie. It’s got emotion, comedy, dance and action. They managed to bring everything in the movie. Fultoo paisa wasool! In a Salman movie, you don’t think, you just want to see Salman and they’ve given us enough of Salman in the movie. As a Salman Khan fan, I’d give it 10/10 for this!”
Raza Beig gave Jai Ho 10/10
Rizwan Sajan, Danube Group Chairman: “I’d give it 7/10. It’s a nice, beautiful message that they’ve shared with Jai Ho. Action was as good as any typical Salman movie like Dabangg or Wanted. People should like this. I would think it’ll cross a minimum of Rs250 crores.”
Rizwan Sajan thinks the movie will definitely cross at least Rs250 crores
Ajay Ramchandani, Founder AJR Events: “The movie was fantastic. The social message was very good. There was lots of violence. I think Salman should get an award for his performance. The music wasn’t great, I thought it was boring. Some parts of Dubai were shown in the movie [watch out for those].”
Meena Ramchandani, Homemaker: “Superb movie but the fighting was too much – then again the movie required it. Salman rocks. The movie was perfect. Everyone played their part well and we didn’t get bored at all.”
Thumbs up for Jai Ho from Ajay and Meena Ramchandani
Shenoy, PR Professional: “Jai Ho wasn’t the best Salman movie. It was the same trend like the last few movies that have been action driven with the same concept of a one-man army fighting everyone. The movie had lots of slow-moving action. For his age, Salman is super fit, damn good looking and all these plus points definitely might make it reach the crore club. At the end of the day, he’s Salman so the movie will do well.”
